In order to earn a Certificate in Business from Lakeview Business College, a student is required to complete 5 courses.   • Computer Fundamentals
    • Computer Fundamentals provides students with a foundation in the skills and knowledge needed for today's technology-based careers. Students learn the components of systems—from the CPU and memory to input devices and peripherals—and how these components interact with an operating system to perform critical tasks. They develop a basic understanding of what can go wrong and how to recover. Learners also explore how computers connect to the Internet, what services can be found online, how they can be used, and what dangers exist in the form of viruses, Trojans, and other malware. Students prepare to work with different types of applications, including spreadsheets, word processors, presentation creation tools, and more.

  • Business Communications
    • Business Communication is a practical course that examines principles of communication in the workplace. It introduces you to common formats, such as the memo, letter, and report. It helps you review your writing skills to gain greater mastery of grammar, mechanics, and style.

      More importantly, it introduces you to the strategies successful business professionals    employ for a variety of situations. You are exposed to techniques for writing i          nformational, persuasive, sales, employment, good news, and bad news communications. You gain information on internal and external communication    situations, with practice in audience analysis.

      You also gain information on the technological tools available to business communicators today. You are introduced to the exciting communication possibilities offered by personal computers, cell phones, videoconferencing, desktop publishing,    and other cutting edge technology. In essence, it provides you with an introduction to    the communication skills needed to enter and advance successfully in your business    career.
  • Introduction to Marketing
    • What is marketing? Why is it important? What does it consist of? In Introduction to Marketing, these questions are answered as you gain an understanding of this dynamic field. The topics covered range from consumer behavior to marketing ethics and include market research, planning, strategy, product, pricing, promotions, distribution, wholesaling, and retailing. The focus is both domestic and global, with several real-world examples of marketing successes and failures

  • Personal Finance
    • This course in Personal Finance will equip you to understand, plan, and manage your financial affairs. It will focus on the development of practical methods of organizing your financial information, interpreting your personal financial position and cash flow, developing achievable and worthwhile goals, and implementing actionable plans and risk management techniques to meet those goals. Specific topics to be covered include money management, insurance, and investing.

  • Small Business Management
    • Concepts, principles, and operations of the private enterprise system are identified in this course. Students compare and contrast sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations, and they learn the advantages and disadvantages of each. This course also discusses the functions of modern business management, marketing, and ethics and social responsibility. Human resource management is described as well as how employers can motivate their employees. Bookkeeping, accounting, financial management, and financial statements are also examined.
  • Business English
    • Our Business English classes provides MP3 podcast ESL lessons and audio/e-book courses forintermediate and advanced business English learners. Each business English lesson is focused on a particular workplace English skill( meetings, presentations, telephoning, negotiating, socializing , travel, conversation etc.) and language function (clarifying, disagreeing, questioning, expressing opinions, persuasion etc.).
